about

you've seen it on a million picture postcards. But what does it really mean?

lyrics

I should be there kissing you
not in this chair missing you
a night of solitaire won't do
Wish you were here

room looking out on paradise.
the water's fine the beach is nice
a single postcard's so concise
Wish you were here

one day the phone rang right out the blue
you won a cozy getaway just for two
deluxe hotel and first class airfare too
this holiday was overdue

romantic walks along the sand
the faint sound of a steel drum band
its almost more than I can stand
wish you were here

one day the phone rang right out the blue
you won a cozy getaway just for two
thats when you confessed
that we two were through
you hopped a plane with someone new

so while you sunbathe with your brand new beau
outside my door its eight below
the forecast calls for ice and snow
Wish you were here
Wish you were here
and I was there
