about

First song for September, I thought I'd go back to my roots. Here's a torch song with a little bit of 1950's cool treatment.

lyrics

A few too many cocktails
some borrowed cigarettes
Remnants of a dreary party
I shall soon forget

As I head home, the moonlight dims
To make room for the dawn.
I've haven't slept a wink,  not since you've gone.

Whenever I go dancing,
i stay out 'til after three
but when each day starts anew
theres always that ennui
its one constant I have found that I can count upon
I haven't felt a thing, not since you've gone

I've tried, how I've tried to get over you
I tell myself "everything's swell"
this crazy ride bruised my pride
what am I to do
I just want to break free of your spell

I've tried to drown my sorrows, in another lover's arms
But all of my tomorrows have been stolen by your charms
With each new set of lips I kiss your mem'ry lingers on
I haven't felt a thrill- not since you've gone
