about

Just came to me while watching reruns of Perry Mason

lyrics

I remember you
the way you looked at me
across the floor
you asked me for a light
you took my lighter
and you took much more
I never thought that I could feel
the way that i feel when I’m with you
the things you said to me
you made me believe I was clean and new

We hid from the world
in your hotel room
i thought you cared for me
or at least what i assumed

I should have known better
then to fall in love with you
I wanna forget ‘ya
the night that i met ‘ya
but there’s nothing i can do

I was far from innocent
By the time that you met me
You called me insolent
and you said that i was bourgeoisie
you fed me lies
when I was starving, famished for some truth
I fell for your disguise
I never met someone who was so smooth

You caused me to die a
thousand times inside
i was deafened by your laughter
each time you made me cry

I should have known better
then to fall in love with you
I wanna forget ‘ya
the night that i met ‘ya
but there’s nothing i can do

i was thunderstruck
right down to my core
you slowly broke me down
yet i begged for more
you left me stranded
on a far and distant shore
now my spirits broken
right here on the floor

I remember you
like a traumatic kind of shock
Theres nothing I can do
I wish that I could just turn back the clock
to that autumn day when you went away
i thought you set me free
but now here you’ve returned
say im gonna burn
‘cause you’re not through with me

You say you’ll steal my heart
like a bandit in the night
It makes me hate myself
‘cause deep down i know that you’re right
