about

This is song is the result of a challenge given to me by Stephen Tobolowsky, one of the coolest people in show biz today. Its some advice to my little girl as she embarks on her middle school career at a new school in a new city.

lyrics

autumn's here. skies are clear
the leaves are falling falling falling down
summer's past way too fast
a brand new school in a brand new town

Celebrate and all I ask is
do your best, don't skip classes
and to your own self always be true
and though I may not live forever
you'll do fine 'cause you're so clever
no matter what I am proud of you

brand new places, brand new faces
brand new friends that you haven't met
and at week's end when work is done
take the time to have some fun
but don't forget…to

Celebrate and all I ask is
do your best, as time passes
to your own self always be true
and though I may not live forever
you'll do fine in life's endeavor
no matter what ill always love you

So tread boldly to the unknown
my fearless angel you are not alone
such a long and scary road ahead
you will find you'll do fine just remember what I said

winters here skies are clear
and the trees the trees the trees are bare
spring is not that far behind
think of the summer times we shared

Celebrate and all I ask is
do your best, don't skip classes
and to your own self always be true
and though I may not live forever
you'll do fine 'cause you're so clever
no matter what I am proud of you

Celebrate and all I ask is
do your best, as time passes
to your own self always be true
and though I may not live forever
you'll do fine in life's endeavor
no matter what ill always love you
