I used to be so cynical
sarcastic with a dose of ire
i would walk across a bridge and
then promptly set it afire

it was as if someone took my heart
and put it on a shelf
kept it far out of reach
from the world and from myself

i went through all the motions
made believe i gave my heart
chose the right words to be spoken

i would wonder what i did
to make somebody feel that way

watch the T V weatherman
after he would give his forecast
i sit down and start to plan

make a list of all the errands

i'd calculate the quickest routes
and map them out for fun

HB Radke has music in his blood. The son of Harry James Orchestra frontman Fred Radke and vocalist Gina Funes, HB started on the trumpet at the age of 8. He started his own big band just a few years after that. His career as a vocalist began in his teens.
